“What do you want to be when you grow up?” At some point in our lifetimes as children, we will be asked this question by our parents.
Unfortunately, many of us end up working in jobs we later find meaningless. We chase after the next promotion, pay raise or monthly wage, and yet, we still wonder why we’d come home feeling drained, unhappy and empty.
We all want to live a purposeful life. However, our society’s definition of ‘life purpose’ has brought us looking in all the wrong places – at the cost of our own happiness and fulfilment.
Essentially, every single person has a life purpose. We are all unique, with special gifts and inner potentials waiting to be expressed to the world. But some (or most), just don’t know it yet.
Being a doctor has always been Christal Asong’s childhood dream. But after a bitter experience in the hospital, she resigned from her medical career, and since then, she has embarked on a journey of self-discovery in search of meaning, purpose and fulfilment.
Inspired by her own personal life experiences, Christal Asong shares how you can tap into your own unique gifts and discover work you are meant to do through 5 simple steps:
Step 1: Self-awareness
Step 2: Self-knowledge
Step 3: Envisioning
Step 4: Resilience
Step 5: Commitment
Whether you’re just entering the workforce or thinking about switching careers, this book aims to redefine what it means to work, and shed a light on your life’s purpose, so that ultimately, you can live a happier, more meaningful life.
